An intriguing thing is Night
Enclosing darkness
Confounding light
A longevity matched by only one other
By that reddish, most radiant of brothers

As ever, her lunar guide descending
With it a ghostly reign falters
Vaporous gases rising, bending
Her alabaster aspect alters

For flaxen might beckons
Knees give, making way
Each turn, a hold lessens
Each dawn crowning Day
