The Lodestone

What is the desire of the moth for the star?
That concentric flight to radiance afar

Investing life pursuing a dream
To reach a spark, through lone moonbeam

Each moth will pass, so short of the mark
A brief life extinguished, so near to the start

Falling through the air, by circles just travelled
They drift through night, as their time is unravelled

Never kissing that holy cheek
That from cocoon the moth does seek

Yet so, wings will still flutter
Beating long and bright

Toward a blazing blue beacon
Toward perpetual light
